One of the best steak and cheese I’ve had since moving to NH two years ago! Will absolutely be back!

Salt hill Pub in Newport, NH, proudly self-proclaims on their menu that they serve the best catfish in New Hampshire—and after trying it, I have to agree! Nestled in a historic brick building, this pub offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes for a great dining experience. The catfish was fantastic—perfectly flaky on the inside with a crispy, hand-dipped batter that added just the right crunch. The portion was huge, making it not only delicious but also a great value. The seasoning was spot-on, and you could tell it was made with care. We also tried the wings, and they were excellent—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. Whether you’re a fan of classic buffalo or something more adventurous, they definitely hit the mark. With its friendly service, generous portions, and a setting that highlights Newport’s history, Salt hill Pub is definitely worth a visit. If you’re a fan of Southern-style catfish or great pub fare, don’t pass this up—it’s every bit as good as they claim!

Working on the same street stopped in for lunch was so good. On my first visit, I ordered the burger with fried egg and bacon delicious. Went back again, tried the fish, and chips were great. I will be going back. Both times went upstairs to the bar where the service was great

Stopped in at this Irish pub after arriving from upstate New York, at the recommendation of a local and it was a fantastic choice! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was great from the moment we walked through the door. The food did not disappoint—those Southwest chicken egg rolls were awesome! I also had the Turkey BLT wrap with tots, and everything was fresh and delicious. Even with three meals, the wait time was short, which was a nice bonus. Overall, a great spot with good food, friendly service, and a cozy vibe. Definitely worth a visit!

Excellent meal tonight. My 1/2 rack BBQ Ribs and Ann Plante 's Firehouse Prime Rib sandwich. The ribs were so meaty and her prime rib was so flavorful. Thanks Kate and staff for a great experience! The potato salad and Mac & cheese were homemade and tasted like it.

Pleasantly surprised with the Salt Hill pub! Visiting Newport for a night and just needed somewhere to eat. I was thrown off by a few of their existing Google photos. The pub was aesthetically pleasing, clean, well decorated and the service was great! Huge portion sizes. Would go again! Shout out to the bangers & mash and peanut butter pie. Thanks

Was lucky enough to be going through town on St Patrick's day. My son and I both got the fish and chips and it was amazing! Don't usually get fish that good without going to the seacoast. Good size serving and more fries than I could eat and the coleslaw was very good also. Service was excellent for as busy as they were. Price was decent for the quality of the meal.
